Summary

The research was carried out in order to estimate the efficiency of the dairy and meat utilization of the ewes resulting from crossbreeding Polish Merino (M) with prolific breeds: Finnsheep (F|FM and the prolific Merinofinn line – Mf), Romanov sheep (RM) and the Booroola Merino (BM). Compared with Merino, Finnsheep and Romanov crossbreeds had the best results for dairy and meat utilization. The production value of one mated Mf, FM and RM ewe was higher than that of a Merino by 35, 44 and 56%, respectively, with higher prolificacy and better rearing. In BM, the production value was higher by 19%, while the rearing was worse and the production of milk was the lowest of all.
