The poster is about measuring performance of dairy cooperatives in Poland. The research objectives are:

• to asses effectiveness of Polish co-ops based on the newly developed indicator, which takes into account the dairy co-ops mission

• to find strategic and operational (according to Porter’s distinction) drivers which determine co-ops effectiveness

To measure co-ops effectiveness we used CVA (cooperative value added) category, which could play analogical role as profit in stock companies. CVA divided by patronage could be a substitute of ROE. By taking into account risk problem we create TEE (total economic effectiveness) which could be treated as EVA in stock companies. We find that the most effective (TEE score) are co-ops which operate on attractive markets, represent medium level of specialization have strong market power, represent high level of labour substitution by capital and achieve high operational efficiency scores (measured by DEA (data envelopment analysis)).
