The paper presents a case study of the governance structure used by a statutory regional development institution, private sector salmon producers and a international feed supplier to collectively market aquaculture output from the West of Ireland. The parties come together through equity participation in a limited company, ISPG, which is Ireland's leading farmed salmon and trout exporting company and one of the largest seafood companies in the country. The scale and objectives of each actor are very different yet the development and operation of the ISPG governance structure provides benefits to each individually and furthermore contributes to maintaining the competitiveness of the aquaculture sector, income and employment generation in the region and preserving the Irish language. However, further research is required to determine factors supporting or impeding transferability of this governance structure.
