Summary

The aim of this paper was to detect the paramaters which influence the viability of systems in process of intensification in goat production of the Murciana-Granadina breed in the region of Murcia (S.E. Spain). To this end all the technical-economic information generated in a year by four farms belonging to two of the most important goat producing areas in the region has been collected.

It is concluded that the gross margins obtained are highly variable, that the most important factor is the cost of feed and that the production of milk is the principal objective.
