It is discussed possible reasons behind or values behind biodiversity that might explain why it is important to conserve biodiversity. In this connection, some questions related to how wild and farmed salmon might be valued is used to illustrate how traditional inter-human ethical positions might stand in relation to nature-environmental positions when handling environmental controversies.
