Summary

Livestock farming systems, as well as animal food chains, will change under new global conditions. There will be competition between regions and, consequently, changes in localization of production, of farming systems, of activities in the food chains. The concept of geostrategy of animal production and animal products is proposed. It means that localizations are not fortuitous. It emphasizes the part of decision making by economic operators, and the possibility for them to take into account the advantages or disadvantages related to each location..
