Summary

Within the context of a local agri-environmental operation, a contract including all of their forage fields in the marsh is proposed to farmers to protect the biological abundance of wet natural weadows. Negociated between each farmer and environmental protectors, it allows to define the localization of fields which have to respect the most severe ecological constraints. A survey has been led in all the farms, based on the folowing principle: agriculture land use and animals management fit a year programme. The understanding of the farm forage functionning permits to bring to the fore the determinants of this programme and its flexibility to answer to new constraints: simulations on necessary practices evolution have been related to observed evolutions, to test the method reliability. The forage management survey ends in a map-making of the practices and their regularity. Land use evolution has been quantified and localized.
