The Brazilian beef business is extremely large, comprising 161 million heads of cattle and a meat production of 7 million tons a year. This article presents a scenario analysis based on a review of recent data and trends in the Brazilian and global beef market, identifying many impacts of the beef business. The main objective achieved by this scenario analysis is the observation of the emergence of 4 main types of networks that will operate in the global beef market in 2010. These networks will operate and coexist in 4 different market segments with different needs.
