Abstract

Genesis 3:20 implies marriage between siblings, but Leviticus 18:9 prohibits incest. Codified moral laws changed from allowing siblings to marry each other to prohibiting it. Anthropological tools are used to explain the change. Observations for inbreeding that are based on deviations from the normal biological development of humans promote an inbreeding taboo all the way to laws of the land. The codification of change in moral sexual laws and its derived model are then used to question what other biological changes are observed, and using the same hermeneutical pneumatological imagination, anthropological model changes are briefly explored.
