Abstract

Christian theology of religions is a timely but difficult topic, especially when examinations of theology of religions confronts vital intersections with pneumatology. Amos Yong is preeminent among Evangelicals and Pentecostals working in theology of religions at the intersection between Christian theology of religions and pneumatology. However, his work is often misunderstood and thus misrepresented, especially regarding the relationship of his Christology and pneumatology. The present chapter argues that, rightly understood, Yongâs work provides Evangelicals and Pentecostals with an effective model for understanding the realities of a religiously plural world and their implications for Christian identity and contemporary ecclesial mission.
