Abstract

This essay briefly discusses the Yongian engagement with African theological interpretation of Scripture (TIS) weaved with the African perspective of church as a community of grace. The essay argues that the church from an African perspective is a community of faith through which people experience the multi-colored and multi-faceted forms of God’s grace inspired by the pneumatological interpretation and understanding of God’s word. A thematic triadic approach beginning with a succinct discussion of Yongian engagement with African TIS is employed to make the case and is buttressed with a discussion of church and grace and an example of applied TIS.
