Abstract

In 2015, Chinaâs resident income continued to grow, the level of consumption constantly increased, new consumption hotspots were in the making; however, there were factors restricting the residentsâ income and consumption; for example, the economic slowdown hindered the growth of the residentsâ income, the employment of rural migrant workers faced difficulties, the environment of rural consumption was relatively underdeveloped, the social security system was less developed, thus affecting the residentsâ confidence in consumption; this chapter puts forward a number of suggestions about promoting the residentsâ consumption, including increasing their income, improving the urban and rural consumption environments and the market supervision system, expanding the field of consumption.
