The application of the voltammetry of micro particles, a solid-state electrochemical technique to monitor the deterioration of pictorial specimens is described. The deterioration of pictorial specimens combining cadmium yellow with Arabic gum, linseed oil, and egg + oleic oil binders by Penicillium hrysogenum, Aspergillus niger, Acremonium crhysogenum, Trichoderma pseodukoningii and Mucor rouxii fungi and Bacillus amyloliquefaciens, Arthrobacter oxydans and Streptomyces cellulofans bacteria results in the appearance of significant modifications in the cadmium yellow voltammetric signals recorded in contact with aqueous acetate buffer.
