The aim of the study was to evaluate the effects of bioprotector (NPKP) with diazotrophic bacteria and Cunninghamella elegans, fungi that produces chitosan, in grape yield, pH and increase of nutrients in soil, after harvest of grape (Vitis labrusca cv. Isabel) compared with mineral soluble fertilizer (NPKF). The experiment was conducted in a factorial design (2×3+1)×2, with four replicates, at the Botticelli fine wine industry, located in the San Francisco Valley, during February 2010 to May 2012. Were used two fertilizers (bioprotector – NPKP and mineral soluble fertilizer – NPKF) applied in three rates and in two depths (0-20 and 20-40cm). A control treatment (grape waste compound) was added for comparative purpose. Grape yield at the second harvest and nutrient uptake (total N, P, K, Ca and Mg) in leaves and petioles were determined at two depths. The fertilizers treatments (NPKP and NPKF) increased grape yield, and total nutrient uptake in leaves and petioles. NPKP in higher rate showed the best content of nutrients in grape, especially when applied in 0-20 cm depth. The effect of the bioprotector to control plant disease was not observed because did not occur incidence of soft rot diseases on grape. The study focuses the great potential of bioprotector enriched in N by inoculation by diazotrophic bacteria and C. elegans. The biofertilizer may be an alternative for NPK fertilization due to the induction of nutrient uptake and positive influence in grape yield.
