The emergence of antibiotic-resistant bacteria has become a public health problem at the global level. This problem is of growing concern in hospitals. It is therefore necessary to make use of new active substances. One of the strategies is to explore the medicinal plants. Our interest is focused on Marrubium vulgare L. or white horehound. The antibacterial activity of the methanolic extract of the aerial part of this plant was evaluated by the methods of diffusion and micro-dilution. The techniques were applied to seven isolated from wound infections and were resistant to most antibiotics bacterial species. The susceptibility tests show that the antibacterial activity varies with the extract concentration and the nature of germs, and the MIC range between 0.342 and 1.37 mg/ml.
