Abstract

The racialised experiences I encountered during my Teacher Training course had an impact as I developed my personal identity as a young woman and professional identity as an Educator. Within this critical reflection, I aim to use my experiences of teacher training to consider the impact the role teacher training as a practice has in challenging or reaffirming racism. In this critical reflection, I am going to discuss how the experiences of teacher training affected my identity as a racialised being. I will consider the role of Teacher Training institutions in working towards a more equal society. To reflect on my experiences of Teacher Training, Critical Race Theory and the Minority Development Model” coined by Helms (2014) shall be applied as a framework.
