In recent years, the analytical methodology used in the field of mycotoxins has changed from single methods that are only capable for the detection of one or few compounds, towards a broader approach that includes more and more mycotoxins, which are commonly referred to as ‘multi-methods’. Advances in instrumental equipment have allowed for reduced sample clean-up to the point where dilute-and-shoot approaches are possible. In this chapter, some recent mycotoxin multi-methods for cereals and cereal products are summarised and discussed. This includes both species-related multi-methods, e.g. for Alternaria or Fusarium toxins and methods that can determine mycotoxin contamination in general. In detailed tables, the methods are presented with their analytical parameters and the limits of detection and quantitation for the respective analytes.
