Abstract

The aim of this chapter is to analyse the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the Lithuanian parliamentary election in 2020. Based on the example of Lithuaniaâs election during the pandemic, the authors intend to answer questions regarding electoral regulations adopted during the pandemic, including the introduction of additional forms of voting (and their use), specific nature of the election campaign during the crisis, and the election process itself. The primary point of reference for the deliberations is the emergency caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, but also electoral participation and the quality of democracy during the largest global health crisis in recent years.
