Abstract

This autoethnography traces the followership and leadership experiences which have significantly influenced my development into the mature leader I am today, and the leader I wish to continue to become. Using the literature of transformational leadership, followership, and responsible leadership, this autoethnography explores the effects of my early-career experiences with leaders, mid-career ethical questions for junior colleagues, and ongoing challenges, and analyzes how these experiences have contributed to the leadership commitments I carry now into upcoming leadership positions.
