Abstract

The chapter gives a critical analysis of the Partnership and Cooperation Agreements concluded between the EU and its Member States and most countries in the region of the Caucasus and Central Asia in the 1990s, including the historical development. It does not yet address the enhanced partnership agreements between the EU and Kazakhstan of 2015 and with Armenia of 2021, but looks at the relations between the EU and the countries of the Caucasus and Central Asia regions from a fresh perspective.
