Abstract

This chapter proposes to follow up on work done and suggestions made by Robert, in keeping with the authors own work and interest in Targum study, which has been and is predominantly the possible bearing of the Targums on the understanding of the New Testament. The chapter intends to pay attention to the ?tell-like structure' of Targums, works with possible snippets of interpretations from different ages set side by side. It tries ascertain whether in some or in a number of, cases a line of continuity can be traced for traditions and interpretations. Methodology will continue to remain a concern for scholars wishing to use the targumic evidence in New Testament or first century CE studies.
