Abstract

This epilogue draws on the material presented in the book in order to reflect on more recent changes in Tunisia. It uses the relational reading of womenâs rights presented above to raise questions about current debates and reforms related to gender equality and womenâs rights, which have remained key topics of national debate, specifically, the possibility of introducing gender equality in inheritance. It argues for a need to pay attention to legal practice, as much as legal reform, when assessing womenâs rights and the need for a holistic, relational reading that considers the symbiotic link between law and society.
