Abstract

The teaching practicum is highly dependent on a presence-based modality. Recent global challenges have encouraged the academics in Education Faculties worldwide, to find digital resources to complement and improve this aspect of initial teacher training (ITE). A school mentor teachers- student teachers matching online application called the Practicum Profiles Tool (PPT) has been developed (http://ppt.prac3project.eu/) under the ERASMUS+ project entitled Digital Practicum 3.0 Exploring Augmented Reality, Remote Classrooms, and Virtual Learning to Enrich and Expand Preservice Teacher Education Preparation (2020-1-ES01-KA226-HE- 096120), to choose the best mentoring dyads or triads (school mentor teachers, student teachers and school mentor teachers, student teachers, and school-based Teacher Educators). The pairing selection is based on professional criteria (e.g., mentors’ pedagogical backgrounds, students’ performance), school characteristics (e.g., ICT level, proximity, etc.), and the pedagogical criteria (e.g., students’ background or interests).
