Chapter Summary

The definite article is [ARABIC TEXT] plus a dagesh forte in the next letter.

Adjectives indicate gender and number by four endings: ø for masculine singular; [ARABIC TEXT] for feminine singular; [ARABIC TEXT] for masculine plural; and [ARABIC TEXT] for feminine plural.

Predicate adjectives form a sentence; attributive adjectives do not.

The basic reduction rule is as follows: tonic lengthening, pretonic lengthening, propretonic reduction, and distant reduction. The complete reduction rule is the fundamental idea for this and the next five lessons.
