Abstract

This paper is a contribution to Leszek Nowakâs non-Marxian historical materialism and it consists of two parts. In the first part, the methodology of this theory is reconstructed. The theory of power and theory of property was constructed by following the method of idealization and gradual concretization. In the second part, the problem of the interdependence between the factors of power, property and spiritual domination is outlined. The main thesis of this section points out that in non-Marxian historical materialism the cultural momentum is, on the one hand, the main factor (similar to political and economic momentum), but on the other hand is a secondary one. Cultural momentum does not determine the basic mechanisms of power and property but only modifies them in the quantitative, not qualitative way. This methodological analysis leads to an enlargement of methodological perspective and supplementing it with the procedures of abstraction and de-abstraction, stabilization and destabilization
