Vining peas must be harvested within a 12–24 h window and frozen within 4 h. Accurate prediction of harvest dates and yields would improve efficiency by allowing processors to correctly prepare for daily intakes. A yield prediction model was developed using Sentinel-2 satellite imagery and over 600 field yields as ground truthing data. The model uses the variables variety, days from sowing, heat units from sowing, crop maturity, and several vegetation indices. The model was tested on 50 fields and predicted yield with an average error of 18% from measured yield. By comparison, growers’ predictions for the same fields had an average error of 50%.
