This project focused on studying the possibilities of smart spray systems to get a sustainable agriculture by means of a rational use of plant protection products (PPP) in olive groves and in vineyards. The project set the goal of determining which was the most appropriate procedure for an intelligent and accurate characterization of vegetation, through the use of proximal and remote sensors (LiDAR and multispectral sensors onboard drones). Another objective was the development of standard protocols to generate prescription maps for the optimal volume rate (and pesticide dose) to be applied in vineyards and olive grove plantations, considering the internal canopy variability.
