Abstract

Despite the existence of different reviews on the use of advanced technological tools in the teaching of mathematics as in the rest of the disciplines that make up STEM education (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), there are currently no reviews that address the use of these tools in the teaching-learning process of gifted or extremely talented students. Thus, this chapter presents a review of the current state of the literature on the use of advanced technological tools both in the teaching of mathematics and in the rest of the disciplines that make up the so-called STEM education oriented to the teaching of gifted and talented students. To achieve this, a scoping review methodology was utilized. This method allows us to deepen the current knowledge on the subject and to identify potential obstacles or limitations in this area of research. The results obtained show the growing interest in this field and the possibilities for improvement in terms of scientific production or thematic variability, concluding with the relevance of these technologies for the teaching-learning process of gifted or extremely talented students.
