The authors survey multiple dimensions of the historical phenomenon âKinderkurâ (childrenâs spas) in historical and archival perspectives. About 13 million children and youth were sent to health resorts in Germany between 1945 and 1989. In the last decade, former âKurkinderâ-recollections have put these preventative health services under immense scrutiny, instigating historical research.
