All interested in ancient philosophy, Plato, and the Platonic tradition.
Panayiota Vassilopoulou is Reader in Philosophy at the University of Liverpool, UK. She holds a BA in Economics (Athens), a PhD in Philosophy (Liverpool), and a Senior Research Fellowship with the Higher Education Academy. Her research interests are in ancient Greek Philosophy—especially Plotinus—aesthetics, epistemology, feminist pedagogy, and more recently in the philosophy of Mary Midgley and 20th-century British women philosophers. Alongside research and education leadership roles, she has been at the forefront of promoting the relevance of philosophy for contemporary life by engaging diverse non-academic publics in the practice of philosophy in collaboration with major cultural institutions in the UK and Europe. Her research and public philosophy activities have been supported by numerous grants from the Arts and Humanities Research Council, the European Commission, the British Academy, the British Society of Aesthetics, the Welcome Trust, and two post-doctoral fellowships funded by the Leverhulme Trust and the Academy of Finland.

This journal publishes original peer-reviewed articles, critical notices, and book reviews devoted to the study of the Platonic tradition, broadly conceived. We welcome contributions in all facets of Platonism, from diverse perspectives and orientations (philosophical, historical, literary, religious, etc.).
Published under the auspices of the International Society for Neoplatonic Studies, a global organisation with members in Europe, Australasia, Africa, and the Americas, the journal supports and develops the society’s mission to promote excellent scholarship in the inception, reception, and continuing influence of Platonism to the 21st century.

A grant from the Dutch Research Council (NWO) supported the publication of the journal in Open Access from 2012 to 2016.
