Abstract

This chapter explores the legal foundation and functioning of the United Nations, focusing on how it shapes and enforces international law to promote peace, security, and cooperation among States. It examines the UN Charter as the core legal instrument that defines the rights and obligations of Member States, the powers of the main UN organs, and the principles guiding international relations.
