Abstract

Reich conceives of religious feeling as arising in those who are the lower social class economically or who have been trained as children to conceive of the divine. He postulates further that the God ‘concept’ arises out of the relationship with the father. The elemental composition of the divine is integrally related to basic sexual drive, particularly the orgastic drive. [Editors]
