Abstract

This chapter is conceived as an introduction for an historian or archaeologist wishing to use pollen data in her or his research. It assumes no prior knowledge of palynology and related disciplines. It explains in detail the way in which this type of evidence is obtained as well as the different uses that can be made of it in historical or archaeological research.
