Lâeffet dâune sous-alimentation et dâune rÃ©alimentation sur les poids des composantes du 5^Ã¨me quartier a Ã©tÃ© Ã©tudiÃ© sur 27 brebis adultes de race Barbarine. Une attention particuliÃ¨re a Ã©tÃ© portÃ©e au tractus digestif et au foie, en raison de leur forte contribution aux dÃ©penses Ã©nergÃ©tiques de lâanimal Ã lâentretien. Trois lots de 9 animaux ont Ã©tÃ© abattus: un lot alimentÃ© au niveau du besoin dâentretien (T), un lot sous-alimentÃ© ne recevant que 20 % de ce besoin (B), tous deux avec du foin, et un lot sous-alimentÃ© comme le lot B puis rÃ©alimentÃ© Ã 170 % des besoins avec une ration foin - orge (BH). Les animaux des lots T et BH ont Ã©tÃ© abattus au mÃªme poids. La sous-alimentation a rÃ©duit le poids de la plupart des Ã©lÃ©ments mÃ©taboliquement actifs du 5^Ã¨me quartier (peau, sang, rumen foie), mais parfois dans des proportions minimes (intestin grÃªle). Seul le poids du foie Ã©tait plus Ã©levÃ© pour le lot BH que pour le lot T, en raison dâun apport plus Ã©levÃ© de nutriments.
