Tony Armstrong
Is Director of Postgraduate Research Degrees in the field of Education & Social Work at Birmingham City University. His research and professional interests are in doctoral learning and development including supervision and the history of supervision.
Victoria Birmingham
is a research assistant in the School of Education and Social Work at Birmingham City University. She recently completed her PhD in Education. Her doctoral research explored the impact of government policy reform on the assessment of primary school children.
Victor M. H. Borden
is Professor of Higher Education at Indiana University Bloomington. He previously directed institutional research offices at three different institutions. From 2015 to 2022, he directed the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education. His research focuses on evidence-informed methods for improving the effectiveness of higher education programmes and institutions. He is a past President of the Association for Institutional Research and a Fulbright Scholar serving the University of KwaZulu-Natal in Durban, South Africa.
Bruno Broucker
is Guest Professor at the KU Leuven and Higher Education Policy Advisor at the Institute of Tropical Medicine. He is member of the executive committee of EAIR and Editor-in-Chief of the book series “Higher Education. Linking Research, Policy and Practice”.

Helge Dauchert
heads the office of the Commission of Experts on Research and Innovation (EFI) in Berlin. He supports the Commission of Experts in analysing the strengths and weaknesses of the German innovation system and in developing recommendations for action for the Federal Government. Before jumping into scientific policy advising, he managed the office of a member of the German Bundestag.
Harry de Boer
is a Senior Research Associate at the Center for Higher Education Policy Studies, University of Twente. His research focuses on governance and funding issues, public management, policy analysis and thematic policy-oriented studies, mainly in the field of higher education, about which he publishes regularly both nationally and internationally.
Caterina Fox
teaches online at IU Internationale Hochschule, Germany, and has been working as an Adjunct Associate Professor (Communication) at the University of Maryland (Global Campus).
Amanda French
is a Reader in Education at Birmingham City University in the School of Education and Social Work. She has an established track record in research and development employing creative methodologies, related to academic/professional literacies, HE policy and pedagogies and professional development with a particular focus on Equality, Diversity and Inclusion.

Katharina Hölzle
is Professor for Technology Management and Industrial Engineering at the University of Stuttgart. She is Deputy Chair of the Commission of Experts for Research and Innovation (EFI) and former member of the German government’s High-Tech Forum. She is Editor-in-Chief of the journal Creativity and Innovation Management
Seonmi Jin
is a Project Associate for the Charting the Future while in the PhD program in Higher Education and Student Affairs at Indiana University Bloomington. She also serves as a data specialist intern for the American Democracy Project (ADP), a nonpartisan initiative of the American Association of State Colleges and Universities (ASSCU). Her professional experiences include faculty development and academic program assessment.
Ben Jongbloed
is a Senior Research Associate in the Center for Higher Education Policy Studies (CHEPS) at the University of Twente. He has worked at CHEPS for almost 30 years and published extensively on governance and resource allocation in higher education. His recent work is on performance-based funding, the public funding of research, and embedding entrepreneurship and sustainability in higher education.
Alex Kendall
is Professor of Education and Associate Dean Research in the Faculty of Health, Education and Life Sciences at Birmingham City University. Her research interests focus on teacher development across sectors with a particular focus on literacies, creative research methods and the education of marginalised groups.
Cindy Konen
is a lecturer for business administration and a scientific assistant for innovation management as well as innovative teaching concepts at the University of Applied Sciences in Dortmund (Germany). She has a doctoral degree in business administration and is currently researching with a focus on the innovative ability of Higher Education Institutions.

Theodor Leiber
is Scientific Advisor and Higher Education Researcher with Evaluation Agency Baden-Wuerttemberg, Mannheim (Germany) and Associate Professor of Philosophy at University of Augsburg (Germany). He received a Diploma in Theoretical Physics, PhD degrees in Theoretical Physics and Philosophy and a habilitation in Philosophy. His research focuses on evaluation, impact studies, performance measurement and governance, quality management and organisational development, learning and teaching spaces and transformative digitalisation in higher education. His publications relate to physics, epistemology, philosophy of science, ethics and higher education research.
Oddlaug Marie Lindgaard
is a senior adviser and a researcher at the Centre for Learning and Technology (KOLT) at Nord University. Fields of interest are change management, teaching and learning combined with ICT.
Silke Masson
is a research associate and educational developer at the Center for Quality Assurance and Development (ZQ) at Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz, Germany. Her research focuses on the development of teaching quality especially through teacher communities.
Clare Milsom
is currently the interim Registrar and Chief Operating Officer at Liverpool John Moores University. She is National Teaching Fellow of the UK’s Higher Education Academy. A palaeontologist by background Clare has worked in higher education for over 30 years. Known for her work on the evaluation of large scale qualitative data. Clare has spent the last decade working in professional services with responsibilities for the Academic Registry, Teaching and Learning Academy and Student Support.
Jessica Nooij
is Senior Researcher at the Department of Institutional Research, part of the Expert Center for Learning and Innovation at Avans University of Applied Sciences. She has a PhD in sociology and behavioural psychology and is a board member of the Dutch Association for Institutional Research (DAIR). Her current research focusses on the role and development of data-feedback tools in higher education learning and policy.
Mark O’Hara
is a National Teaching Fellow and Principal Fellow of the UK’s Higher Education Academy. He works as Associate Pro Vice Chancellor (Education) at Aston University, Birmingham. His academic interests include student enablement and learner development, teaching enhancement, and the development of more inclusive educational practices. He is an Executive Committee member of both the European Association of Institutional Research (EAIR) and the UK’s Forum for Access and Continuing Education (FACE) and also chairs AHE’s Collaborative Award for Teaching Excellence Network (CATE-Net).
Matt O’Leary
is Professor of Education and Director of the education research centre CSPACE at Birmingham City University, UK. He is well known internationally for his extensive body of work on the use of classroom observation in understanding and improving teaching and learning. His recent research has explored the topic of teaching ‘excellence’ and ‘quality’ in higher education.
Pascale Stephanie Petri
is psychologist and researcher as well as lecturer at JLU Giessen (D). She earned her PhD for her research on freshmen’s experiences in HE. Her research is situated in the area of psychological assessment (in HE).
Rosalind Pritchard
is Emeritus Professor of Education and Distinguished Scholar of Ulster University. Her PhD was on comparative education. She is a member of the Royal Irish Academy and Secretary of the European Association of Institutional Research (EAIR).
Christopher Stolz
is researcher at the Fraunhofer Institute for Systems and Innovation Research (ISI) in Karlsruhe. Before joining ISI the worked as research associate in the office of the Commission of Experts for Research and Innovation (EFI) in Berlin. There he supported the Commission in analysing the strength and the weaknesses of the German innovation system and in developing recommendations for the Federal Government.
Elisabeth Suzen
is an Associate Professor at Nord University and Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences. She holds a PhD in Pedagogy and her research interest is on quality in higher education.

is an advisor in the quality management department at HTW Berlin. She is responsible for HTW’s Monitoring of Study Programmes and works on data analyses and reporting.
Daniel Thiemann
is data warehouse architect at HTW Berlin. He works in the Information Technology Centre and is responsible for the design and maintenance of data management systems and reporting for several departments.
Lieke van Berlo
is researcher at the Department of Institutional Research, part of the Expert Center for Learning and Innovation at Avans University of Applied Sciences. She holds a MSc degree in Sociology and has broad experience in coordinating and conducting research among students.
Lotte J. van Dijk
is researcher and data scientist at the department of Institutional Research, part of the Expert Center for Learning and Innovation at Avans University of Applied Sciences. She holds a BSc in educational science, a BEd and two MScs degrees in Computer Science and Interaction Technology.
Katy Vigurs
is a Reader in Education in the Centre for the Study of Practice and Culture in Education at Birmingham City University, UK. Katy is a critical higher education researcher with a particular interest in stratification and its relationship to university access, student experience and graduate outcomes. She is primarily concerned with issues of inclusion, equity and social justice. Katy specialises in narrative, visual and participative research methods and has expertise in creative pathways to public engagement.

is Professor for Quantitative Methods. His research areas are the application of multivariate statistical methods and data mining. He is vice-president for studies, teaching and international affairs at HTW Berlin.
