Abstract

Assessment is an integral part of the learning-teaching process and communication and authentic assessment strategies gain importance in assessments made in the distance education process. This chapter discusses developing a model based on a teaching experiment for improving mathematical language skills with the help of authentic assessment tools in the distance education process. The activities that were enriched and assessed with authentic assessment tools have been designed to reveal and improve language skills based on communication and interaction in the distance education process. Thus, this study examines the role and reflections of authentic assessment tools in the development of mathematical language skills.
