Wittgenstein was a linguistic philosopher in both phases of his development. His early philosophy was oriented on ideal language but later one on ordinary language. However, it is not clear waht “ordinary” meant in Wittgenstein's second philosophy. This paper attempts to show that Ryle's distinctions of use of orinary language and ordinary use of expressions helps us to understand Wittgestein's ideas.
