Abstract

The human rights jurisprudence of the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) in 2023 was ‘evolutionary’ rather than ‘revolutionary’. Nevertheless, the judgments presented here raise novel legal issues, are illustrious and of high political relevance. Eight judgments in the fields of the rule of law, data protection, non-discrimination and procedural guarantees are presented and discussed. Key legal aspects are critically analysed in order to contribute to the dogmatisation of the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union.
