Cecille DePass
is a former Commonwealth scholar and Associate Professor Emerita at the Werklund School of Education, University of Calgary in Canada. She taught graduate and undergraduate courses in the Universityâs teacher education programs. DePass has published a number of book chapters and articles in critical pedagogy and multiculturalism. A recipient of the Comparative and International Education Society of Canada (CIESC), David Wilson Award for distinguished services, and The Farquharson Institute of Public Affairs (FIPA), Jamaica, Centennial Award, DePass is a former Chair/President, Education Sectoral Commission, CC-UNESCO. She is the co-editor of Cultural and Pedagogical Inquiry which she co-founded.
Kim Koh
is Associate Professor at the Werklund School of Education, University of Calgary in Canada. Prior to joining the University of Calgary, she was Assistant Professor at the National Institute of Education, Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. Kim teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in educational assessment as well as supervises graduate students in educational research. She is the recipient of numerous awards including the University of Calgary Teaching Award for Curriculum Development. Her research is focused on teachersâ assessment literacy and teachersâ capacity in the design and use of authentic assessment. Her work has been supported by several major grants such as the University of Calgary Teaching and Learning Grant, the Alberta Education Research Partnership Grant, and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) Insight Grant. Kim has published numerous peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters, and books (Improving Teachersâ Assessment Literacy, Mastering the Art of Authentic Assessment, Vols. I & II, Authentic Assessment in Schools). She has served as Program Chair of Division D Measurement and Research Methodologies of the American Educational Research Association.
Sean Steel
is a public school teacher as well as a former sessional instructor and lecturer at the Werklund School of Education, University of Calgary, Ambrose University, and the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) in Canada. Sean has published broadly in the fields of education, philosophy, religion, politics, and law. His books include The Pursuit of Wisdom and Happiness in Education (SUNY Press, 2014), Teacher Education and the Pursuit of Wisdom (Peter Lang, 2018), Suffering and the Intelligence of Love in the Teaching Life: In Light and in Darkness (Palgrave-Macmillan, 2019), and most recently Platoâs Myth of Er: A Personal Journey Re-Told by ELL and Refugee Students (Eaglespeaker Publishing, 2019).
