The existing body of comparative studies on ECEC in the Mediterranean region has received little attention from the academic community. The chapters in this book make a significant contribution by providing prospective readers with a comprehensive overview of the current state of affairs in the region, highlighting the challenges faced by ECEC and stimulating further discourse and research on the future of the sector. Valerie Sollars is a professor in Early Childhood Education at the University of Malta. Valerie has researched and published extensively in the field of early childhood education. At a national level, she drew up several policy documents.
Mehmet Toran is a professor in Early Childhood Education Studies at the Istanbul Kültür University. His research deals mainly with early childhood education curricula, early childhood education approaches, early childhood education policy, poverty and childhood, and critical pedagogy.
