Abstract

Chinaâs social security undertakings shifted from the experimental stage to maturity with a generally stable pattern of development and basically balanced income and expenditures. So-cial assistance work became more accurate and precise poverty-reduction undertakings ad-vanced significantly. Social welfare and charity undertakings became more mature. Welfare undertakings for the aged and the disabled have been promoted day by day. A grand pattern of development for charity undertakings was formed. Volunteer services entered an age of legisla-tion. The important stipulation in the Report to the 19th CPC National Congress about strengthening the construction of the social security system indicated the direction for the development of Chinaâs social security undertakings, which have entered a new age.
