In this chapter we present our discussion of media convergence, in which we explain the evolving requirements and design possibilities for novel online platforms. We also discuss the key ideas on how to design and realise a multimedia online platform for the future. In so doing we explain our theoretical assumptions which are based on our practical experiences. We present our findings, which we obtained during a requirements analysis and show how we came to both our theory and conclusion by evaluating and interpreting our results. In the conclusion we present current research trends of media convergence and human-computer interaction.
