In the latest years, the Argument from Marginal Cases has been widely discussed by ethicists, as far as it is one of the most promising arguments against speceism. Most of those defending animal rights have used this tool in order to avocate for their recognitiionl. At the same time, those who try to hold the old paradimg have done their best to fight against it. However, most of the responses to the Argument from Marginal Cases lack consistence. This presentation tries to add a new response, based on the fact that we have not inherent moral obligations to human marginal cases, which obviously implies that we do not even have it to animals. Going one step further, it will be stated that the lack of intherent value makes it possible to treat human and animals in a different way without being unfair. If we have no previous moral obligations, talking about discrimination makes no sense.
