Acknowledgements
I wish to thank Prof. Ruth Langer, Prof. Daniel Joslyn-Siemiatkoski, and Dr. Camille Markey for the warm collegiality that made my time at the Center for Christian-Jewish Learning of Boston College so rewarding and fruitful; without their cooperation and support, the conference, of which this volume presents the proceedings, would not have been possible.
Colleagues, at Boston College and beyond, also have been extraordinarily helpful in making the conference happen. I am not only grateful to the contributors to this volume, who graciously agreed to have their contributions published, and who remained patient with me during the various stages of editorial work, but also to David Hunter and Ruth Langer, who agreed to serve as chairs of two of the sessions, and to the colleagues and students who attended the conference and enlivened it with spirited discussion. They all made the volume into what it is now.
The bibliography and index of this volume have been prepared by Adrienne Ora, who was my student at Calvin University, and subsequently completed her Masterâs at the Catholic University of America. I am very much indebted to her for this work. I am also grateful to my students Briar Stonehouse, Molly Post, and Clare Rybicki, for giving the manuscript a last read-through.
