Acknowledgements
The idea for this volume evolved during the interdisciplinary seminar series Kierkegaard in France (May–June 2021, University of Cambridge), which took place (online) in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. As such, the project would not have been brought to completion without the energy, patience, and expertise of our contributors. We are deeply grateful to each and every one of them. We are equally grateful for the financial support offered by CRASSH, the Faculty of Divinity (University of Cambridge), the French Section of the Faculty of Modern and Medieval Languages and Linguistics (University of Cambridge), the Society for French Studies, and the Leverhulme Trust. Warmest thanks to Nicki Dawidowski for her help in organizing the seminar series.
We would like to give special thanks to the anonymous reviewer for their helpful comments and suggestions, George Pattison, Catherine Pickstock and Joel Rasmussen for their support and advice, Jacob Hofmann Andersen and Hina Khalid for their editorial assistance, and the translators, Nikolaas Cassidy Deketelaere and Jis Pettayil. We would also like to thank the editors of the Kierkegaard Studies Yearbook for their permission to use the KSYB abbreviations.
Jon Stewart, the editor of this series, was encouraging from the very beginning and, with untiring support and patience, helped us turn this project into a book.
