For this work I have adopted a double system of transcription. On the one hand, when I quote terms from classical Arabic (fuṣḥa) or from Moroccan dialectal Arabic (dārīja), I have transcribed them in italics, using the transliteration system suggested by Brill. On the other hand, in order to simplify reading, I have transcribed personal names and surnames and place names following the usual conventions or preserving transcriptions similar to those found in documentation and sources.
