This book series offers new perspectives on the East-West conflict by building on recent and current historiographical developments in Cold War history. It moves beyond traditional narratives by investigating the impact of both medium and lesser powers on the evolution of the Cold War. In addition to state actors, books focus on international organisations and non-state actors, such as national liberation movements, non-governmental organisations, and civil society groups.
The scope of the series is global, with a particular interest in hitherto neglected (sub-)regions, notably the Global South. Methodologically, submissions should be based on multi-archival historical research, and may draw on other related disciplines, such as (but not limited to) anthropology, area studies, international relations, and security studies. While the series privileges research monographs, it also welcomes proposals for edited volumes.
Authors are cordially invited to submit proposals and/or full manuscripts to the series editors Jussi M. Hanhimäki and Marco Wyss, or the publisher at BRILL, Kate Hammond.
Brill is in full support of Open Access publishing and offers the option to publish your monograph, edited volume, or chapter in Open Access.
