Well, itâs been a long year and itâs not over yet. Things didnât quite pan out the way I thought they would when I had âhigh expectations for this yearâs meeting of the RSAâ which didnât take place. Anyway, to console ourselves, we have another special issue of Erasmus Studies, this one on Erasmus and Emotion, brought to you by guest editor Kirk Essary. Kirk has put together a first-rate issue that speaks for itself, so I will just remind you of the topics of the other special issues, inaugurated with volume 34 in 2014: Erasmus and the Renaissance Apophthegm. Then we did Erasmus and Renaissance Dialogue in 2015, Paraphrases on the New Testament in 2016, Erasmus and the New Testament in 2017, Erasmus and the Renaissance Adage in 2018, and we skipped the special issue last year. Each special issue has its own handy bibliography of secondary sources. Iâm planning on a special issue on Erasmus and Renaissance Censorship for 2021 (consider that a call for papers). Finally, one announcement: Professors Julián Solana Pujalte and Rocio Carande have just published the first ever complete Spanish translation of the Colloquies (Zaragoza: Pórtico, 2020). They assembled a crack team of translators, including our very own contributor Jorge Ledo. Tell your librarian.
