This collection began as a February 2014 symposium on women and clothing in Japan, generously funded by the Japan Foundation, held in Hobart at the University of Tasmania’s Sandy Bay campus.
In addition to thanking the Japan Foundation for its untiring support for the project, contributors would like to thank staff of the Foundation office in Sydney for their on-going advice and encouragement.
