Three Christian Martyrdoms from Early Islamic Palestine

Passion of Peter of Capitolias, Passion of the Twenty Martyrs of Mar Saba, Passion of Romanos the Neo-Martyr. Parallel Georgian-English and Greek-English texts

Editor / Translator:
All three of the martyrdoms presented in this volume were composed at the Mar Saba monastery in the Judean Desert. They share a common high literary style, although each is very different in the manner that it portrays Christian martyrdom at the hands of the Muslims. All three are attributed to famous members of this renowned monastic community.
The editions of each text have been corrected and compared with the manuscript evidence when available. The English translations are the first for each into any modern language other than Russian.
